New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church is pastored by Rev. David Kennedy. The church works to educate, feed, clothe, shelter, spiritually awaken, and encourage the people of God to stand against evil and the injustices inflicted upon them. It hopes to economically strengthen and holistically uplift, while ministering to community needs, following God's word as recorded in Isaiah 61:1-3 and Matthew 28:19-20.

Sodexo is a world leader in combating hunger and is recognized for its leadership in fighting for a more equal world. Sodexo generously volunteered to take the lead in renovating the Echo Theater through its North American Construction Group, led by Laurens-native, David Walker. He and his North American team of engineers and professional construction managers are helping to guide the planning and construction process, and, when possible, have offered the services of architects, engineers, and suppliers.
MOA and its founder Michael Allen, AIA, of Greenville, South Carolina, are the architects for the renovations. MOA is working closely with Sodexo to develop the plans, process and all activities related to the renovation of The Echo Theater. Allen and his firm offer more than 19 years of successful architectural business development and project management experience, including LEED and Green Globe Sustainability projects. A native of Conway, South Carolina, he is a former Clemson University football player and was awarded the University’s 2019 Brian Dawkins Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in career and community achievements. He currently serves on the Clemson Board of Visitors, is a Liberty Fellow and a member of the Aspen Institute Global Leadership Network.
